On September 10, the Safety Education Conference for new international students of the 2026 Autumn Semester was held in the lecture hall of No.3 Teaching Building. Pang Qiuxiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President, attended and delivered a speech. Tang Shouli, Captain of the Exit-Entry Administration Detachment of Zibo Public Security Bureau, and Chen Xiaoguang, Police Officer from Chengxi Squadron of Zhangdian Traffic Police Brigade, were invited to deliver special lectures. Leaders of the School of International Education, international student counsellors and all new international students of the 2026 Autumn Semester participated in the event.

Pang Qiuxiang briefly introduced the university’s history, disciplinary strengths, achievements in international education, and campus study and living environment. She noted that international students are an important force for the university’s international development and friendly envoys promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. She hoped the new international students stay true to their original aspiration of studying in China, prioritize diligent learning and earnest practice, integrate deeply into China, dedicate themselves to friendship communication, always keep safety in mind and observe the bottom line in study and daily life.

Combining exit-entry administration practices and typical cases with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on the Administration of Entry and Exit of Foreigners, Tang Shouli shared legal knowledge. Chen Xiaoguang illustrated road traffic conditions around campus and typical traffic accident cases, bringing a detailed, case-rich first legal lecture for international students in China, guiding international students to cultivate good manners and travel safely.

As one of the series of orientation activities for new international students, the conference aims to help freshmen quickly understand Chinese laws and regulations as well as university rules, and raise their awareness of safety prevention and self-protection. The university will continue to carry out education activities on legal safety, campus disciplines and cultural adaptation to build a safe, harmonious and friendly study and living environment for international students.
