On the afternoon of September 3, the School of International Education held a faculty forum for the new semester. School leaders, the person in charge of the Teaching Affairs Office and all course instructors attended the meeting. At the forum, the university’s teaching rules and regulations were interpreted, and detailed explanations were given on classroom discipline management for the new semester and the operation of the school’s teaching system.

The meeting pointed out that Chinese proficiency is of great significance for international students in China to improve academic performance and achieve high-quality employment. The school will adopt multiple measures including pre-examination intensive training, optimized management systems and enriched second-classroom activities to raise the HSK pass rate. It will also explore tiered Chinese teaching to deliver targeted courses at different levels for international students with elementary, intermediate and advanced Chinese proficiency to help improve their Chinese competence.

All faculty members participated actively in discussions and put forward practical measures and suggestions from multiple perspectives: boosting students’ learning motivation, strengthening mid-term assessments for international students, giving full play to the exemplary role of alumni, and enhancing pre-examination tutoring and mock tests.
