Dormitory Safety Inspection for the New Semester
To consolidate campus security, steadily promote international student management for the new semester, eliminate potential dormitory safety hazards, guarantee smooth student admission and foster a safe and civilized residential environment, Quan Taidong, Vice Dean of the School of International Education, led all counsellors to carry out a special safety inspection of international student dormitories.

The inspection covered both new and returning international students’ dormitories with full coverage. The team visited every room to conduct thorough checks without blind spots. Focusing on key safety risks, the inspection targeted electrical hazards such as illegal high-power appliances, random wiring and improper use of power strips. It verified the integrity of fire-fighting facilities one by one and ensured unobstructed evacuation passages. Meanwhile, the team inspected dorm hygiene, item arrangement and the working condition of doors, windows, water and electricity utilities to identify all hidden risks in an all-round way.

During the inspection, counsellors communicated face-to-face with international students to learn about the study and living conditions of returning students. They delivered on-site safety education, publicized dormitory regulations as well as knowledge of electricity and fire safety, guiding students to raise safety awareness and abide by university rules. For detected problems, the school enforced immediate rectification. Issues like improper storage of belongings and misuse of electric appliances were fixed on the spot. Damaged hardware facilities were recorded in a unified ledger and reported to the logistics department for follow-up treatment, forming a closed-loop management system for hazard rectification.
This special inspection effectively removed various dormitory safety risks, standardized residential order and strengthened international students’ awareness of safety and self-discipline. It laid a solid safety foundation for new students’ check-in and orderly admission work. Going forward, the School of International Education will carry out regular dormitory safety inspections, continuously strengthen safety education and daily accommodation management, refine service support measures, fully protect international students’ personal and property safety, and ensure the steady progress of all work in the new semester.
