On May 21, the Chinese‑Foreign Students’ Poetry‑Sharing Event, jointly organized by the International Student Branch and the School of Literature and Journalism Communication Branch of the Poetry Society of Shandong University of Technology, concluded successfully at the Confucius Hall. Chinese and international students shared their favourite Chinese poems. Taking poetry as a medium, they savoured the elegance of classical verse and fostered cultural bonds.

The event unfolded in a warm and refined atmosphere. Chinese and international students from the School of International Education and the School of Literature took the stage one after another to demonstrate their talents. International students delivered impassioned recitations of classic Chinese poems in Chinese and interpreted their connotations with personal insights, revealing profound affection for fine traditional Chinese culture between the lines. Chinese students performed masterpieces with rich feeling, accompanied by English interpretations to help international students understand the cultural heritage behind the poems. The recitations alternated between gentle and soothing tones and impassioned outpourings. Enhanced by fitting background music and body language, they drew rounds of warm applause from the audience.

Zhang Zhaolu, Vice‑President of the Poetry Society of Shandong University of Technology, delivered concluding remarks. He noted that the poems selected by students covered a wide range of themes with rich content, including expressions of devotion to home and country, depictions of natural landscapes, as well as reflections on cultural integration. This event has built a platform for cultural exchange between Chinese and international students. It enables fine traditional Chinese culture to spread through communication and be inherited via mutual learning, effectively strengthening friendship among young participants and showcasing their cultural confidence and youthful spirit.
