With the May Day holiday approaching, all counselors from the Student Affairs Office of the School of International Education conducted a special pre-holiday safety inspection of international student dormitories. The initiative aims to reinforce campus safety barriers for international students, eliminate potential hazards in dormitories, and fully safeguard the safety of international students in their study and daily lives.

During the inspection, counselors visited each dormitory room one by one and carried out thorough checks focusing on electricity safety and indoor sanitation. They carefully screened for electrical risks including unauthorized high-power appliances, randomly wired power cords, and unattended powered devices. They also inspected room tidiness and hygiene. Any hidden risks identified were pointed out on the spot, and students were required to make immediate rectifications to fully eliminate all safety hazards.

Meanwhile, counselors explained holiday safety precautions to international students in plain and easy-to-understand language. They emphasized that students must strictly abide by campus management rules during the holiday, raise awareness of electricity safety, fire prevention, travel safety as well as personal and property security, and strengthen their ability to guard against telecom fraud. Students were reminded to contact counselors promptly in case of emergencies so they could spend a safe and civilized holiday.

This safety inspection constitutes a key measure taken by the School of International Education to deliver rigorous daily student safety management and consolidate campus safety defenses. It not only identifies and rectifies dormitory safety hazards in a timely manner but also further strengthens all international students’ awareness of safety prevention and self-protection. The inspection lays a solid foundation for creating a safe, orderly and harmonious residential environment for international students and maintaining campus safety and stability throughout the holiday.
