To effectively enhance fire safety awareness among staff and international students, improve emergency evacuation and self-rescue capabilities, and strengthen campus safety defences, the School of International Education successfully organised a specialised fire evacuation and firefighting drill at Xingyuan Student Dormitory on the afternoon of December 18.

Upon sounding the alarm, the emergency evacuation plan was immediately activated. Evacuation marshals swiftly took their positions across designated zones, guiding students to cover their mouths and noses with damp towels, adopt a crouched posture, and evacuate rapidly and orderly along pre-established routes to the designated outdoor assembly point. The entire process was meticulously organised and executed with high efficiency, achieving the intended outcomes.

Following assembly, the event featured a session on fire safety knowledge and skills training. Specialists demonstrated the correct use of fire extinguishers, with students participating in hands-on practice. This combination of theory and practice enabled students to further master initial fire response measures and escape techniques.

This drill effectively tested the scientific validity and practicality of the school's emergency response mechanisms, enhancing the collaborative incident management capabilities of both staff and international students. This fire emergency evacuation exercise served not only as a vivid practical lesson in safety education but also as an effective assessment of safety prevention capabilities. The SOIE will continue to strengthen safety education and hazard identification, continuously refine its emergency management system, integrate safety awareness into daily operations, and collectively foster a safe, harmonious, and stable campus environment.
