To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, carry forward the revolutionary legacy, and strengthen emotional bonds between Chinese and international faculty and students, on November 27, the Party branch of the School of International Education (SOIE) organised all Party members and representatives of international students from Yemen, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh to jointly visit the Ma'anshan Revolutionary Education Base in Zibo. There, they participated in a thematic activity. Through this walking classroom, participants gained insights into revolutionary spirit, while cross-cultural exchanges fostered shared ideological understanding.

Zibo's Ma'anshan gained renown for the ‘Battle of Ma'anshan’ during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression. This site served as a pivotal anti-Japanese base in central Shandong, where countless revolutionary martyrs composed a heroic ode to the mountains and rivers with their blood and lives. At the outset of the event, guided by the base's docent, all participants approached the Ma'anshan War of Resistance Memorial Hall with reverence. Before the Party flag, all branch members solemnly renewed their admission oath. The resounding vows echoed through the mountains, not only reinforcing the Party members' sense of responsibility and mission but also allowing the accompanying international students to deeply appreciate the unwavering commitment of Chinese Communists to their beliefs. Subsequently, Party member representatives solemnly carried a floral tribute bearing their condolences, placing it carefully before the memorial hall's roll of honour. The satin ribbon bearing the words ‘Revolutionary Martyrs Live Forever’ shone brightly, embodying the profound respect of both Chinese and international faculty and students for the fallen heroes. The Party branch secretary stepped forward to carefully adjust the ribbon, expressing profound remembrance through solemn ritual.

Within the memorial hall, yellowed historical photographs, revolutionary artefacts bearing witness to the past, and stirring tales of heroism transported visitors back to the tumultuous years of the War of Resistance. Rayhan, an international student from Bangladesh said, ''This is my first such direct encounter with China's War of Resistance history. The spirit of these heroes is truly admirable. Their self-sacrifice for their country and people is worth learning for everyone.'' Drawing on personal experiences, Party members further elucidated to the students the patriotic sentiments of the revolutionary era, rendering the core tenets of the War of Resistance spirit— the heroic spirit of defying tyranny and fighting to the last drop of blood; and the unyielding conviction of perseverance and unwavering determination to achieve victory.

Subsequently, the entire group followed in the footsteps of revolutionary martyrs, hiking up Ma'anshan Mountain. Party member representatives shared insights from their educational work on integrating revolutionary spirit into international student development, helping them better understand China and the wider world.

The Party Branch Secretary of the SOIE stated that this thematic activity, combining red education with international student development, served both as a profound spiritual baptism and a vivid cross-cultural educational practice. Moving forward, the Party Branch will continue innovating activity formats, transforming red resources into educational assets. While cultivating international students who understand and befriend China, it will guide all Party members to uphold their original aspirations and missions in cross-cultural education, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of the university's international education endeavours.
