Recently, the School of International Education successfully concluded its series of activities under the ‘Teaching Skills Enhancement Month for Faculty’. Commencing on October 16 and spanning one month, the initiative saw full participation from all teaching staff. Adopting an ‘observation + discussion + practice’ model,  it aimed to precisely improve teaching capabilities and promote high-quality development in education.

To ensure effectiveness, four core components were meticulously designed, forming a comprehensive enhancement chain: ‘Demonstration and Guidance – Experience Sharing – Innovation Exchange – Consensus Building’. During the open lesson observation segment, Lecturer Yu Ping utilised an introductory comprehensive Chinese course to focus on practical essentials such as grammar refinement design and classroom interaction techniques, providing colleagues with tangible learning and discussion models. Collective viewing of nationally recognised exemplary lessons enabled staff to systematically study advanced methodologies in cross-cultural communication skills and international student classroom management, broadening pedagogical perspectives. Participants in the ‘Chinese Teaching Heroes Gathering’ and the Shandong Provincial International Chinese Teaching Skills Competition shared in-depth insights into the design rationale and implementation pathways of their competition courses, demonstrating achievements in teaching reform and innovation. Thematic workshops centred on core topics such as ‘Differentiated Teaching Strategies for Cross-Cultural Classrooms’ and ‘Overcoming Key Challenges in Beginner Chinese Instruction,’ where teachers exchanged case studies, exchanged perspectives, and forged pedagogical consensus.

This event seamlessly integrated theoretical learning with practical application, both strengthening teachers' awareness of pedagogical innovation and enhancing their ability to resolve real-world teaching challenges. The SOIE will leverage this initiative to continuously develop platforms for teaching capability enhancement, optimise international talent cultivation models, and lay solid foundations for elevating the School's educational endeavours to new heights.
