Research Visit to Shandong University
On November 11, Zhang Zhaolu, Dean of our SOIE, led a delegation of five members to Shandong University's International Education College for an exchange visit. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including the recruitment and cultivation of international students, educational administration, the development of international Chinese language education disciplines, and inter-institutional collaboration.
Accompanied by Ma Xiaole, Dean of Shandong University's International Education College, the delegation toured the Traditional Chinese Culture Research and Experience Centre alongside relevant teaching and research facilities. They gained in-depth insights into the advanced practices in international Chinese language dissemination, cultural immersion programmes, spatial development, and institutional management.

During the discussion session, both parties focused on exploring issues concerning recruitment channels, student composition, enrolment strategies, and educational management for international students in China. Shandong University shared its advanced experience in discipline development, scientific research, talent cultivation, and convergent management. Additionally, discussions centred on the disciplinary development, curriculum systems, and faculty development within international Chinese language education, while prospects for deeper and broader future collaboration between the two institutions were explored.
This research visit not only deepened mutual understanding between Shandong University of Technology and Shandong University in the field of international education but also laid a solid foundation for advancing collaborative development in student recruitment expansion, management optimisation, and joint programme development. Both parties unanimously agreed to seize this opportunity to further strengthen communication and cooperation, jointly promoting the high-quality development of international student education in China.
