The Second Jixia International Student Academic Forum Successfully Held
To further cultivate a vibrant academic atmosphere and establish a platform for international postgraduate students to showcase their research achievements and exchange scholarly ideas, the Jixia International Student Academic Forum—part of the International Culture Week series—was successfully held in Room 414 of the School of International Education on the afternoon of 6 November. Lecturer Zuo Jia from the School of Life Sciences and Medicine and Lecturer Gao Jiahua from the School of Literature and Journalism were invited to attend as commentators. The forum was attended by both Chinese and international postgraduate students from disciplines including Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and International Chinese Education.
BANDAY MOHD SADEEQ, a 2018 doctoral candidate in Agricultural Engineering, systematically proposed innovative solutions to practical agricultural engineering challenges through the application of advanced technological methods. NEHA YADAV, a 2023 doctoral candidate in Agricultural Engineering, offered a fresh perspective by thoroughly analysing critical challenges within her research domain and proposing a series of constructive viewpoints; AL YOUSEFI ABDULNASER AHMED MOHAMMED ABDULLAH, a 2023 master's candidate in International Chinese Education, focused on Chinese language learning pathways and the HSK examination, employing scientific research methods to share effective learning strategies and practical approaches. The three students' outstanding presentations were met with repeated applause from the audience.

Following the presentations, Supervisors Zuo Jia and Gao Jiahua provided detailed feedback from disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives respectively. They acknowledged the research highlights while also identifying areas for improvement, encouraging students to immerse themselves in dedicated study to strengthen their professional foundations. They further urged open exploration to continually broaden horizons, collectively advancing towards new heights and realms of academic achievement.

As the “academic showcase” of this year's International Culture Week, the Jixia International Student Academic Forum comprehensively presented the phased research achievements of our outstanding international postgraduate students. The SOIE anticipates that the continued hosting of this forum will serve as an opportunity to attract more international students to deepen their specialisation, refine their research skills, and strive for academic excellence. Moving forward, the SOIE will institutionalise the forum mechanism, iteratively upgrading its format and substance to inject sustained academic vitality into the intrinsic development of the university's international student education.
