On June 5, Zibo's Second International Students Chinese Classics Recitation Competition was successfully held at our university. International students from various institutions in Zibo presented a cross-cultural feast by interpreting Chinese classics through innovative perspectives and unique approaches. A total of 49 finalists from 18 countries including Russia, Thailand, Madagascar, Sudan, and Yemen participated.

Centered on the theme Reciting Classics, Transmitting Culture, Promoting Exchange, the competition aimed to showcase the profound depth of China's outstanding traditional culture, convey China's stories effectively, spread China's voice widely, and cultivate international talents with understanding and friendship towards China. It was hosted by the Zibo People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and organized by the School of International Education of Shandong University of Technology, with strong support from Shandong Xinhua Bookstore Group Co., Ltd. Zibo Branch and Shandong Century Textbook Museum.

The competition venue was filled with both enthusiastic and solemn energy. Participants demonstrated ingenuity in selecting classical works spanning various eras, breathing new vitality into timeless masterpieces through creative interpretations. After intense competition, the event awarded three first prizes, six second prizes, and fifteen third prizes.

This successful event provided a platform for international students in Zibo to demonstrate their Chinese proficiency and cultural literacy, enabling them to gain deeper insights into China's history, culture, and values during the recitation process. Simultaneously, it fostered exchanges and collaboration among Zibo's universities and advanced the city's international cultural exchange efforts. As the organizer, our college received high praise and recognition from the leadership of the Zibo People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and relevant leaders from sister institutions. Moving forward, with the support of the Association, our university will continue to host such activities, building more bridges for Sino-foreign cultural exchange and contributing to the global reach of Chinese culture.
