Recently, to help new international students better adapt to campus life and enhance safety awareness, the Student Affairs Office conducted safety education session for new international students.

Meticulously planned by the Student Affairs Office, the sessions ensured effectiveness by grouping students according to their classes and conducting activities in staggered batches and time slots. Prior to the sessions, relevant safety protocols were systematically compiled, and tailored educational materials were developed based on the characteristics of international students.

The safety education session is rich in content and covers multiple important aspects. The counselors emphasized the strict adherence to the four prohibitions system in the apartment, taking into account the recent situation of international students, namely, the prohibition of using high-power appliances, the prohibition of privately pulling wires, the prohibition of storing flammable and explosive materials, and the prohibition of smoking; In terms of traffic safety, emphasis is placed on legal driving of motor vehicles, and unlicensed driving and drunk driving are strictly prohibited; In terms of immigration education, it is required to apply for a residence permit within a specified time frame, emphasizing the seriousness of illegal work as an example; In terms of network security, emphasis has been placed on personal information protection strategies, namely not disclosing personal information and not clicking on unfamiliar links; In terms of public security, cases of fighting, causing trouble after drinking, sexual harassment, theft, drug use, etc. were introduced.

The sessions garnered enthusiastic feedback, with students expressing deep appreciation. A Pakistani freshman noted: This clarified China’s laws and provided practical safety knowledge crucial for my campus life.

The holding of this safety education session has built a strong safety line for international students and helped them better adapt to campus life. The school has always regarded safety education as a top priority in international student management and has formed a normalized education system of first class and special lectures. The school will continue to deepen international student safety education, innovate educational forms, enrich educational content, safeguard the healthy growth of international students, and help them write wonderful life chapters in China.
