Amid the vibrant spring season, a Chinese and international students cultural exchange event was held at the Confucius School. Organized by the Student International Exchange Association (SICA), the event attracted numerous new international students.

The event commenced with a meticulously arranged traditional Chinese herb sachet-making session. As a gem of Chinese culture, these sachets not only serve practical purposes like repelling pests and warding off evil spirits but also carry profound cultural significance. On-site, the organizers introduced the history and craftsmanship of sachets, after which international students eagerly crafted their own. They filled delicate cloth bags with herbs like artemisia, agastache, and mint, then carefully stitched them with colorful threads, gradually shaping fragrant sachets.

Subsequently, the DIY flower and grass paper lantern activity elevated the event to its climax. Flower and grass paper, an ancient papermaking technique, is renowned for its unique texture and natural aesthetics. Participants cut the paper into shapes, adorned it with colored lights and decorations, and gradually unveiled exquisite handmade lanterns.

This meetup not only provided a platform for new international students to showcase themselves and interact but also deepened their appreciation for traditional Chinese handicrafts through the sachet and lantern workshops, fostering cultural exchange and integration.
