
International Alumni Symposium Successfully Held
On March 20, the School of International Education successfully hosted an international alumni symposium. Alumni from South Korea returned to their alma mater with profound affection, reminiscing about their youthful days. Dean Zhang Zhaolu, staff from the Student Affairs Office, and current international student representatives attended the event.
Dean Zhang Zhaolu extended a warm welcome to the alumni and highlighted the university’s recent achievements in international education and talent cultivation. He emphasized that alumni are the university’s most valuable assets and pledged ongoing support while encouraging contributions to the alma mater’s development.
South Korean alumni You Jongkeun and Kim Seongil shared post-graduation experiences, fondly recalled their growth during studies in China, and expressed gratitude for the university’s role in their career foundations. They vowed continued support for institutional development and promotion of global exchanges.
Alumni engaged in-depth with current international students, offering insights on cross-cultural communication, career planning, and professional challenges. Russian student Katerina noted: Discussions with alumni clarified my career path and deepened my understanding of challenges in international education.
Campus tours allowed alumni to revisit familiar spaces and witness institutional progress. They praised advancements and expressed eagerness for future engagement.
Dean Zhang warmly invited alumni to visit their alma mater frequently, share their progress in studying abroad with friends around them, and tell the story of China well. He also sincerely hoped that all alumni will continue to care for and support the development of the university's international student career, and provide guidance and assistance to more outstanding international students to connect with Shandong University of Technology and grow and succeed as seniors and role models.
This symposium strengthened alumni-alma mater bonds and inspired new development strategies. The school will continue to commit to building sustained platforms for mutual growth.
