2025 International Student Work Conference

On February 28, the School of International Education convened the 2025 International Student Work Conference to comprehensively plan annual initiatives, enhance educational management quality, and elevate international student services to new heights. The meeting was chaired by Dean Zhang Zhaolu, with all counselors in attendance.

At the meeting, Quan Taidong, Director of the Student Affairs Office, reported in detail on the 2025 international student work plan from the aspects of maintaining the bottom line of safety work, doing a good job in enrollment education, special education, and emergency response, strengthening psychological counseling services and resource construction, building the Study Abroad in Jixia national education brand, strengthening international student career planning and innovation and entrepreneurship education, and improving alumni work mechanisms, focusing on the the Study Abroad in Jixia brand construction action plan and quality certification for international education. Each counselor gave a speech from their respective areas of responsibility.

Dean Zhang Zhaolu delivered a speech in which he fully affirmed the achievements made in international student work over the past year and put forward hopes and requirements for international student work in 2025. Firstly, it emphasizes the importance of humanistic care and safety guarantee. He hopes that counselors can closely monitor the mental health status of international students, establish a sound mental health warning mechanism, and timely discover and solve psychological problems that students may face through regular mental health lectures or other psychological counseling services. Secondly, in addition to classes, plan and organize more diverse cultural activities, such as classic recitation competitions, international cultural festivals, etc., to provide a platform for international students to showcase themselves and promote communication and integration between international and local students. The third is to further improve the safety management system, strengthen campus safety inspections, carry out various safety knowledge training and drills, and ensure the learning and living of international students on campus. The fourth is to be good at discovering and identifying highlights in daily work, such as national education or brand activities, to help international students quickly integrate into campus life and enhance the school's visibility.

This conference clarified objectives and streamlined approaches for 2025, uniting administrative staff through in-depth discussions and laying a solid foundation for advancing international education excellence.
