Recently, the Department of Education of Shandong Province announced the list winners of the 2023 Mandarin Contest for college International Students in Shandong Province. Our students RUSTAMBEK KYZY ZHAZGUL from Kyrgyzstan, won the second prize and CHRISTINA NAA KOMEH, from Ghana, won the third prize. Professor Zhai Chaoyun received the Outstanding Instructor Award.

Organized by the Shandong Provincial Department of Education and co-organized by the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, the Office of Shandong Provincial Language and Literature Working Committee, and Shandong Provincial Educational Television, the competition aims to deepen the understanding and love of international students for the excellent Chinese language and culture, and to promote the international dissemination of the excellent traditional Chinese culture in the form of the national common language and writing system. Since its launch in September 2023, 220 international students from more than 30 universities in the province have participated in the contest. After the school's recommendation, video review and on-site competition, a total of 5 first prizes, 10 second prizes, 34 third prizes and 127 excellence prizes were awarded.
